Perhaps more remarkable than the longevity of this regatta is the spectacular achievements of the school's rowing club which has produced 21 Olympic rowers, including alumni Malcolm Howard, Dave Calder and Scott Frandsen, gold and silver medal winners at the Beijing Games. As Head of Rowing, Brian Carr explains: “The Brentwood rowing program was started in 1923. Not only do we have first-class waterfront facilities but we also have a very unique program and we create a competitive environment that encourages athletes to attain lofty goals early in their rowing careers.” This year, the regatta begins on April 23rd and ends on April 25th. Annual spectator attendance typically tops 5000 visitors, with guests enjoying live musical entertainment, galleries of student artwork, and the excitement of the races.
This is a family-friendly event that is free to the public. Members of the press are welcome; interviews can be arranged in advanced if so desired. Our beautiful setting provides amazing photo opportunities in a pristine West Coast environment.
