Riverside Military Academy

Riverside Military Academy All-Boys Boarding Information:
Focused Learners Cultivated Leaders Dedicated Brothers
Brothers in Blue
Riverside's 300 plus students come from about 25 states and 10 countries. Approximately 10% of Riverside’s student body are day students, while the remainder of the Corps resides in the dorms. Each of our students is valued for the unique talents and skills he can contribute toward the success of the Corps.
Whether you're a star student, a star athlete, or a shining star on stage, Riverside is a place where you'll feel you belong – immediately. This is a brotherhood, a very close one – joined together in a distinctive educational experience and an environment of genuine trust and lasting friendship. You feel important. You feel a part. You feel as one.
Academics
Riverside’s small classes, individualized attention and frequent accountability are a proven formula for success. We support boys who need structure, new learning tools, and freedom from distractions to be successful, as well as boys who are ready to tackle rigorous college prep and college-level courses.
Riverside provides a learning environment that helps students succeed. Our academic day is very structured. Our expectations of our students are very high. Here, in an environment of great support, and few distractions, boys are able to concentrate on the work at hand, and meet their full academic potential.
JROTC
Riverside Military Academy's JROTC program is affiliated with the U.S. Army. All cadets in grades 9-12 are required to participate in the JROTC program. Riverside Military Academy's JROTC has earned the top honor of Honor Unit of Distinction for over 50 years. As a HUD school, RMA can recommend up to 5 students to any of the military academies for the upcoming school year. RMA's Corps of Cadets participated in the 2009 Georgia Veteran's Day Parade and was awarded the President's Trophy which is the highest award given out by the judges of the parade.
Teaching Boys
At Riverside Academy, we’ve been educating teenage boys for over 100 years. We know them. We know their motivations. We understand how they learn. It’s why our single-sex classrooms offer such powerful advantages – less distractions, more open discussions, curriculum and lessons that engage boys’ attention, and individualized opportunities to help each boy achieve his maximum potential in every academic area.
There is an increasing amount of research that scientifically confirms what parents and educators have known for a long time — there are differences in the ways boys and girls learn and interact with others. Because of this, Riverside has designed its program — even the daily academic schedule — with boys in mind.
Motivation Found
A boy knows when he’s not meeting his potential. He knows when he’s not giving this best. This is where Riverside can literally change a life, by helping to motivate the student, by supporting him and instilling the structure and discipline that he needs – and, yes, that he deep down desires.
